[Open] Electrical Engineer Internship

Description: Urban Earth has created a 6-month internship for an electrical engineering graduate to provide a new entrant to the job market with an opportunity to work in the sustainability sector.

Main Duties of the Intern will be:

  • Providing support to one or more Urban Earth consulting projects that focus on energy management, climate change, and sustainability.
  • This internship will focus on providing energy monitoring and management support to municipalities and businesses in South Africa.
  • Work elements will include site surveys, energy gap analysis, data analysis, meeting organisations, documentation of events and workshops, information capture, report writing and research.
  • Assisting with a range of administrative tasks in the organisation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: An Electrical Engineering Degree. Excellent writing skills and a willingness to learn are essential. A genuine interest and commitment to sustainability that aligns with the company’s operational philosophies and culture. An interest in the latest cloud computing and open data tools, as well as a Driver’s license, will be advantageous, though not required.

Please note that this is a full-time position based in the City Centre of Cape Town, South Africa, and is not open to students currently in the process of completing their degrees. Applicants should either be of South African nationality or possess a valid work permit for South Africa.
